Youtube influencers or vloggers are strong online media personalities that have millions of followers. However, vlogging is also rife with competition. In order to remain at the top of their industry, some vloggers opted to diversify and try HTML5 mobile games in attracting new subscribers and retaining old ones.
We worked with Gamee, a games portal for both PC and mobile devices, in launching a highly customized game reskin for Spanish Youtube Influencers Makiman131 and Patty Dragona. The two Internet celebrities have a combined base of almost 20 million subscribers. We developed Street Racer, an endless runner that lets fans play, as either Makiman or Patty, in a very immersive world and gameplay.
Gamee is a games app with over 10 million downloads. Aside from Makiman131 and Patty Dragona, the app also features a couple of branded games from other online influencers.
To take player experience to the next level, Gamee offers limited events where players can compete for the top spot in leaderboards and win prizes. But first, players must register an account and sign in to save their progress.
Street Racer is a game reskin of our licensed endless runner game called Giant Hamster Run. In this new game, we customized some game elements to represent Makiman and Patty’s brand. We also added new maps to allow players to transition and traverse through three different levels: the streets, rooftops, and finally the sewers.

The branded game generated over 4.7 million gameplays during its campaign run. Channel subscribers and loyal players from Gamee greatly contributed to the number of gameplays.
Expanding and handling a fanbase as a Youtuber is not always easy. But as seen in our previous projects, HTML5 games have proven that they are perfect for capturing and engaging millions of followers. Here are some reasons why Youtube personalities should use HTML5 games for their content.
1. Interactive Content
Other than videos, html5 games are the next great content on the Internet that attracts interest. The interactive nature of games helps generate new subscribers and retains the interest of old ones through positive experience that is often associated with the featured brand—in this case, the Youtuber. Strictly speaking, happy players mean happy viewers.
2. Creative Advertising
Attracting new viewers is a huge challenge for all vloggers. No matter how good their published content is, they aren’t sure if they could reach new audiences from all parts of the world. Through the use of modern web browsers, HTML5 games can easily be shared from one person to another regardless of location and OS. Any information, including branding, are advertised within these games. Players will become aware of a brand through gameplays.
What’s even better is that games are not viewed as ads in most cases. Based on our experience, users would rather repeat playing a modest game a couple more times than listen one time to a highly developed ad that they think has nothing to do with them. Now, that says a lot about branded games.

Another great way for Youtube influencers in finding loyal subscribers is through the use of lead generation. This method allows Youtubers to expand their viewership by aiming for specific groups of people who are more likely interested in their content.
Registration and other forms of inquiring potential subscribers are easily integrated into HTML5 games since they can work well with multimedia and graphical content. HTML5 technology doesn't require Flash and other third-party plugins for improved interactions.
4. Economical Approach
Last but not least, HTML5 games provide good value in terms of cost, time, and effort. With HTML5 technology and reskinning, online personalities can build and deploy branded games using polished game engines ready for marketing.
