A Messenger HTML5 Game is a mini-game that is launched inside of a messenger app.
Popular messenger apps such as Facebook Messenger, WeChat, Telegram, KiK and LINE provide a launchpad for different brands and developers to launch new HTML5 games.
By launching your game on messenger platforms, you gain access to hundreds of millions of potential new users.
Facebook Instant Games gives any brand, access to tap into highly loyal and engaged users from Facebook Messenger. There are over 1 billion users on Facebook Messenger, and a growing portion of them play Instant Games.
Games published on Facebook Instant Games have to be in HTML5 format. They also typically require integration of Facebook APIs such as, High Scores, Leaderboards, Social Sharing and Analytics.
For monetization (optional), we can integrate Facebook Rewarded Video API and also In-App Purchases.
One unique thing about Facebook Instant Games, is the presence of a bot to re-engage players. This bot is a separate entity, used to start a conversation with players. Example re-engagement messages include
WeChat is home to over 1 billion users. Originally designed as a messaging app, it now allows users to do everything, from paying bills, shopping, booking a taxi ride, playing games and more. The majority of its users are based in China.
WeChat Mini Programs are the latest addition to this robust platform. It allows any brand to reach Chinese consumers by offering an engaging HTML5 based experience, embedded within the native app.
Tiao yi tiao (translated to 'Hopping' in English) is a platform-hopping game played by over 100 million people within the first 2 weeks of launch.
There are over 2000 mini games and programs published so far, and this number is growing. Close to 500 million players have played WeChat mini games, according to the Tencent Q1 earnings report. Games published on WeChat Mini Programs can be built with Cocos2dx, Egret or LayaAir. We have the capability to help with any engine.
Telegram has over 200 million users worldwide. Originally a secure and anonymous messaging platform, it has evolved and opened up its platform for brands to reach its users.
Game Bots in Telegram consist of the game itself and the bot, that helps to engage the user. The bot typically requires a server-side backend such as NodeJS, while the game itself is a HTML5 based game.
KiK is a messaging app with over 300 million users worldwide.
Game Bots in KiK consist of the game itself and the bot, that helps to engage the user. The bot typically requires a server-side backend such as NodeJS, while the game itself is a HTML5 based game.

There are a few ways to approach this. We can
It starts with brainstorming the idea. We're open to having our clients (the brand) take the lead on creative side and game mechanics, while we figure out the technical aspects and feasiblity.
On the asset production side, we typically work with our clients to gather the original assets and process them into game-compatible format.
Depending on the scope of requirements, we normally take anywhere between 2-4 weeks to build a complete messenger game from scratch. More complicated casual games takes longer, because of the various API integrations that need to take place.
Messenger games development is a continuous process. To succeed, we need to launch and continuously iterate over a long period of time. All messenger platforms are quite new and are always evolving. Hence, we have to evolve along with them.
We only work with a few clients at a time. Hence, we look for long-term clients who already have a strategy in place, a strong budget, and are open to trying out new ideas.
