Digicel currently provides telecommunications services to 14 million subscribers in 33 markets across the Caribbean, Central America, and the Asia Pacific regions. As part of their commitment to enhance user experience, the complete communications company launched a HTML5 games portal through their Digicel Live service.
Using our white label solution, we assisted Digicel to set up a fully functional games portal. Our turnkey service includes a wide selection of games, billing system integration, highly optimized templates, and data gathering features.
For a 24-hour subscription fee, Digicel allows their users to select and access a game from the games portal. Once a Digicel customer starts a game session, the subscriber’s account will be charged for the current day.
Additionally, some of their games have tournament play periods that usually last between 3 to 14 days. Players can play at their own convenience. Their scores will be compared to players across all Digicel regions. During the tournament period, a prize will be given to the player with the highest score at the end of each day.
Digicel also offers free-to-play games, as promotional events for a limited time, to introduce new players to a game. Eventually, some of these players convert into loyal subscribers.
Digicel has complete control of their games portal. They can align their content according to their goals. In general, using a games portal has the following benefits:
Aside from the benefits above, HTML5 technology allows telcos and value-added service (VAS) providers to distribute games outside of the App Store or Google Play economy. These companies can monetize users using their own billing system, and avoid walled garden costs imposed by app stores.
The quality of HTML5 games is also very impressive. Our developers have built visually-stunning games with very minimal system requirements.
The result of our collaboration with Digicel was truly remarkable. Digicel’s games portal not only provided their business a new platform to engage subscribers but also an opportunity for additional revenue. The company's growth with HTML5 games is limitless.
We are proud to be part of Digicel’s commitment to serving the best possible user experience. We share the same philosophy that in this digital world, content is king. Games are the most interactive content anyone can utilize in the telecom industry.
