DK-CAMP is a directory of campsite businesses located in Denmark. Using HTML5 games, we helped DK-CAMP developed a fun, family-friendly Bingo game to engage their clients. The game, Camping Bingo, functions as an icebreaker for campers, helping them connect with one another at the campsite.
Bingo is a pastime that people of all ages enjoy playing to unwind and relax. Camping Bingo builds upon this concept and makes the game more exciting by using catchy background music and stunning visuals.
The goal of this game is to get the winning combination in a given playsheet and obtain a high score by getting the fastest Bingo possible. Unlike its classic counterpart, Camping Bingo has a power-up at the upper right side that randomly marks one of the available numbers. The catch? This power-up meter has a cooldown timer, so players have to use it wisely.
Here’s a preview of Camping Bingo:
Camping Bingo is a game reskin (aka rebranded game) of Bingo World that provides a family-friendly environment instead of casino-like gameplay. Original mechanics of Bingo World were retained, but the assets were changed to fit the brand image of DK-CAMP.
Some of the important changes we did, include:
Localization from English to Danish
New graphics to match DK-CAMP's brand image
Lively background music fit for camping businesses
Choosing the right game that matches DK-CAMP is important in adding value to the overall customer experience. Reskinning allowed Camping Bingo to be developed to match not only the brand’s identity but also the include introductions to its services, in a fun way.
Here are the benefits of providing HTML5 games related to DK-CAMP’s campsite business:
1. Builds the Complete Experience
Providing supplementary games during camping activities allows campers to have a complete experience. This is called Experiential Marketing and it allows service-based businesses to create a favorable perception of their service to both first-time and patronizing customers.
2. Reinforces Positive Brand Image
Camping Bingo’s main concept is to provide a game that campers can play together. Players who enjoyed the game will likely associate their positive experience with the brand. According to Event Marketing Institute’s 2016 study, improved brand perception creates about 74% increased conversion. Over time, the positive experience from the HTML5 game will bring more clients to DK-CAMP’s campsite businesses.
3. Markets the Brand through Different Media
Increasing the visibility of the brand through different media channels allows improvement for brand recognition. Potential campers will be interested in knowing about the brand after they have experienced Camping Bingo. Statista reports that about an average of 58% of customers shares videos and other interactive content on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Majority of these people that share content online will also upload something about the brand if it has interactive content, according to the Event Marketing Institute.
4. Adapts to your Target Audience
Changing the design and features of the game is easy to implement through reskinning. Reskinning allows conversion of the old game elements to be suitable for the target market’s preference. Games become more engaging if it is shaped to fit the target audiences.
Reskinning also permits localized content. Localizing HTML5 games improves customer communication and loyalty since localized games immediately connect with their target audience.
5. Promotes through Leaderboards
Utilizing leaderboard systems on HTML5 games is a very powerful lead generation tool. Registered accounts can be used by businesses to tap into a wider network of clients for marketing campaigns and promotions. In short, anyone who has ever played DK-CAMP’s Camping Bingo automatically becomes a lead for future nurturing.
