We developed a HTML5 Football Game for a bakery chain in the US. This game ran via a standalone microsite as a tie-up for the brand’s sports event campaign.

Objectives

The objectives were:

  • Develop a new game using game reskinning and other customization
  • Develop an interactive microsite to host the new game
  • Add other features on the microsite to engage visitors

Game Reskinning Solution

The client chose one of our Football games as the game template.

Existing Game: Flick Rugby

Game mechanics:

  • Swipe to flick the ball through the goalpost
  • Score as many goals
  • Lose one life for every miss
  • Game ends after losing all 3 lives

New Game: Flick Football

Reskinning Summary

The changes were:

  • Replaced background and objects to American Football theme
  • Added the client’s brand logo throughout the game, intro, and end pages
  • Made minor changes to gameplay
  • Reward players with raffle entries on a daily basis

Microsite Features

The microsite included:

  • Event details and other promotional info
  • Interactive Stadium as UI to direct visitors to different sub-pages
  • The stadium includes the HTML5 football game, photo sharing page, scoreboard, and many more
  • Viewers use the scroll bar to navigate through the stadium

Here’s a sample gameplay.

User Journey

The sports event campaign hosted a raffle draw, which required entry passes to join. Participants can earn passes by playing the HTML5 game. They can earn 1 entry pass per day.

The user journey goes like this:

  1. The viewer sees the sports event campaign in social media and on the client’s website
  2. Clicks the link to the microsite
  3. Reads the raffle details
  4. Makes a raffle entry
  5. The viewer is given an instruction to earn another entry pass
  6. Goes to the interactive stadium
  7. Uses the slide bar to check out other mini-webpage
  8. Sees and clicks the game’s link for the new entry pass
  9. Plays the game and earns the entry pass
  10. Goes back to the landing page and makes another raffle entry
  11. Repeats playing the game once per day for the daily entry pass until the weekly raffle draw winner announcement

The grand prize is a million dollars for 1 winner.
