Cupcake Vineyards, a major US winery approached us to help design and develop an iPad app using HTML5. The goal was to provide store visitors with a fun, fresh and contemporary digital experience.
Visitors would enter the storefront and be presented with a device to read about various wine products. They would be exposed to the many wine varietals that Cupcake Vineyards offers, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gringo, Prosecco, Cabernet Sauvignon and Red Velvet.
The long image below highlights one of the wine products called Chardonnay. The user would scroll the iPad app as the images and filigree animations uncover themselves.
In the image above, users are exposed to the Chardonnay varietal, various flavors that go with it, the food it goes well with as well as how it was produced. Everything a user needs to know about the wine.
6-second Vine videos are cleverly integrated into each wine product. The videos done were fun, fresh and quirky.
The experience not only enhanced Cupcake Vineyards wine offerings, but also drew in more visitors via integrations with social media networks such as Vine and Twitter.
User data such as email, birth dates and preferred wines were also captured, giving store owners the ability to reconnect with the user at a later stage.
The project was a success, because it offered the user an avenue to connect with the brand digitally. Store salespeople were also able to inform and sell wine products to potential customers much better, given the fact that users already knew the brand before hand.
