I think too many people (and developers) are money oriented. They've been programmed by the App Ecosystems to extract the most value possible from end users.
With HTML5, there's so much opportunity besides attempting to replicate the App Store hamster-wheel model (I'll write about this model in another blog post). There is a huge world needing change outside the App Economy, and that is the Open Web.
I personally think the ability to transform organizations is what HTML5 is trully great for.
Besides our core gaming interest, MarketJS is also working on a HTML5 front-end for a large scale consumer webapp. It delivers a unique experience to the end user, anywhere across multiple devices. Plus, it lives in the Open Web.
Building value is far more important at this stage. Make meaning first.
PS: If you represent a large organization, send me an email if you're interested in knowing more about our projects.
